Job duties Provides customer service, by following up with customers regarding orders, shipping schedules and documentation; by sending customers necessary documents; by tracking shipments with suppliers, forwarders, brokers and warehouse representatives; by updating customers with lead times, shipping schedules, and delivery dates; by handling initial customer inquiries and routing them to appropriate sales staff; by obtaining supplier quotes and providing pricing information to customers if necessary; and by helping resolve any quality or return issues by obtaining authorization for returns from suppliers; by following up on disputes or claims.

Prepares various documentation by entering and creating purchase orders; by creating packing lists; by creating credit memos, debit memos, invoices; by filling out necessary import/export forms and other documentation.

Monitors inventory by maintaining accurate databases; by obtaining inventory reports from warehouse and confirming inventory with accounting; by counting and confirming inventory counts at warehouse or other sites if required; and by preparing analysis reports for sales staff and management.


Handles import and export related tasks by helping to identify accurate classification of items for import purposes and verifying that the import tariff codes are correct; by obtaining MSDS, CAS numbers and other necessary compliance documentation and information from suppliers; and by verifying that documentation generated by suppliers are compliant.
